I love the idea of corralling small items in a lazy suzan or a round tray. I am so excited that we were able to create a folding station similar to the one above. I rounded up a group of my favorite laundry room organization photos from Better Homes and Gardens. It keeps me organized and from getting overwhelmed. When I work on a project, I always have pinterest board full of inspirational photo’s that I can refer to. The laundry room is small so getting the appropriate sized bins, containers and laundry accessories is important. The new shelves offer the storage and organization that was much needed in this space. Today I am headed out to the paint store to pickup some color swatches and hoping to finish this project this weekend. They make the perfect instant shelf to hold spray and wash, dryer sheets and dryer balls. When I realized that washers and dryers were magnetic, it was like a lightbulb moment that made me think, what else can I stick to the side of my washer? Lo and behold I found these magnetic spice rack organizers that stick securely to the side of my washer with giant magnets. It’s been great for having the kids help because they can actually reach the bin to throw away the lint by themselves. Not only does this make for a convenient place to toss lint, but it can also be tucked out of sight. When I started looking for alternatives I was surprised to find they made magnetic lint bins that fit right on the side of the washer or dryer. While I’ve always had a small garbage can on top of my dryer to hold lint and other trash, it was alway very unsightly and, let’s face it, full of trash. But for now, just seeing these jars in my laundry room makes me feel like maybe laundry isn’t the worst chore to do. I still need to replace the scoops, since the ones that come with the soap are comically large and if I leave them in the jar my husband will use the FULL scoop for a load of laundry. I used my Brother P-Touch Label maker to quickly label the large jar “Laundry Soap” and the smaller jar “Oxi Clean”. I love the price point of these jars (under $10!) and how easy it is to open and close the lid. While decorative storage jars are not a necessity, they do seem to provide a more serene look than a big box of Tide sitting on top of my washer. I especially love that it doesn’t take up any floor space and I can still open and close the door, even with a full rack of shirts hanging from the back. It easily slips over the door and provides enough space for me to hang items so they don’t become wrinkly and give me a space to hang dry shirts that I don’t want to shrink. Seriously, I’ve never been so excited about something as basic as a drying rack. This one expands to full size, but when you don’t need it, it quickly folds up into a small flat rack that can be slipped into the space between my washer and wall. When I found this expandable drying rack I was overjoyed at not having to store a bulky rack since I just don’t have the space. While I love using my dryer, sometimes I just need a place to lay a sweater to dry and the dining table isn’t cutting it. So today I’m sharing my 5 favorite products for keeping my laundry room organized, and bonus, they are renter friendly as well! Top 5 Products: Items that don’t need to be installed and don’t take up a lot of valuable floor space. While I would love to add cabinets and shelves someday, I need things that will help me stay organized in the meantime. In our small laundry room, there is zero built in storage.
